By this first codicil to my Will dated 16-May-2014, I, Geoffrey Wentworth Roughton of 10 The Orchard, London W4 1JX, hereby give the British Heart Foundation (‘BHF’) (Registered Charity Number 225971. Company limited by guarantee in England & Wales No. 699547 whose registered office is at Greater London House, 180 Hampstead Road, London NW1 7AW) £1,000 (one thousand pounds). This will be increased by £1,000 (one thousand pounds) on 7th August 2015 and increased by an additional £1,000 (one thousand pounds) on 7th August in each subsequent year from 2016 onwards until my death. I declare that the receipt of the BHF treasurer or other proper BHF officer shall be a good receipt to my Executors. The longer I survive, the greater will be the value of the legacy to BHF. In all other respects I confirm my said Will dated 16-May-2014.

I express my gratitude to BHF for its work That I was able to survive my heart attacks may (or may not) be due to the availability of procedures, skills, medicines and other things that may have arisen from research BHF have sponsored. The extra years I have gained, therefore, may, at least in part, be due to this Research. The legacy is an acknowledgement and thanks to BHF by me for those years.
